NARL’s Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR), based in Come By Chance, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, leads, plans and directs the full range of human resources (HR) functions and services including labour and employee relations, HR information and analysis, payroll, insured benefits and pension administration, compensation, staff relations and talent management, including recruitment, organizational health and training and development. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and a key member of the senior administrative team, the VP of HR is a strategic HR advisor to leaders across the organization and a role model for our values. Accountable for ensuring that HR strategy and service is aligned with our organizations strategic objectives and supportive of the organizations mission, the VP of HR works in collaborative partnerships with leaders across our organization. In pursuit of excellent customer service, efficiency and contemporary HR practices, the VP of HR promotes the identification and supports the introduction of new and enhanced polices, systems and practices and fosters the development of capacity and capability of the HR team. As the ideal candidate, you bring a minimum of 10 years’ leadership experience in a multi-disciplinary and fast-paced unionized environment. While you have a demonstrated understanding of a broad range of HR functions, you have expertise with labour/employee relations, interpreting collective agreements, establishing successful, positive, union-management relationships, and have a demonstrated cooperative and consultative approach to achieving goals and objectives and resolving issues. You are conversant in contemporary HR practices and trends and have led the introduction of new policies, systems and processes to support recruitment, engagement, development and performance of talent. You have a deep understanding and commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. You are a valued advisor, able to successfully build cooperative relationships with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and areas. You are a skilled mentor, coach and facilitator whose demeanor and attitude earn respect and set the tone for those around you.
